Variable Nd filters off Ebay

I've been looking been at getting some nd filters so I can take some long exposure shots like waterfalls, rivers lakes etc and stumbled across these on eBay, I appreciate that they are not going to as good quality as cokin/Hoya etc, But I don't want to speed a fortune on filters to have them just sit in my camera bag, has anyone got experience / shots using this type of filter

There was a thread on here a while back, I don't think people were too impressed. A search should find it though

In the past I used 7dayshop ND filters which were fairly cheap and seemed OK.

I am a firm believer in the old cliché of "you get what you pay for".

A 50 pence filter ( which is what this costs in reality) is unlikely to be optically decent so I would not expect miracles!

I appreciate that you don't want to spend a fortune on filters but you won't get a decent representation of what you can achieve with a half decent filter set.

At the end of the day it's your cash and your decision .
