Saw this little thing growing out through a crack in my patio. Couldn't have been much more than a centimetre in diameter:

Taken with a 70-200mm Nikkor with a Nifty Fifty Zuiko reversed on the end and attached via self-amalgamating tape. Tiny tiny depth of field.

Yeah, my botched setup gives ridiculously low DOF, about 2mm at best! Although as it was hand-held outdoors with a little breeze, I was quite pleased that I got the stamen in focus.

May well invest in a proper macro lens in the future.

This is a great example if ya shoot HH. I shoot HH macro everyday and with all of the variables besides being hand held, a fantastic image it is when all comes together. 2mm(or less) is ever so slight a slice. This is a complete picture , top to bottom outside in. It is a front and back cover of a hardcover book and your eye in this case, reads the pic front to back. More stars for capturing the iridesance(sp?) And symmetry. Bravo.
