Video with a 60D

Hi,

I have a Canon HG10 for HD video and a 450D for photos.

I'm thinking of selling both and getting a 60D body.

I'm prefer taking pics these days and taking out 2 x bits of a kit is a hassle so would like to just have an SLR than can shoot HD film when required.

I realise that the video capacity on the 60D won't be as good as the HG10 (dependent on the size of the SD card) but that doesn't bother me so much.

Other than that can anyone offer any insight into the differences I can expect in HD video between a 60D and the HG10. I'm guessing there must be some compromise but having never really interacted with HD footage from an SLR I don't know what that compromise might be.

Can anyone offer any further insight on a dedicated HD camcorder vs an SLR shooting HD video?

Thanks

The dedicated camcorder will focus track whereas a DSLR won't, it's usually manual focus, and also is not suited to continuous shots, normally a few minutes then edited together.
