Fairly new to the whole DSLR experience and whilst picking my Nikon D3100 up over the weekend I noticed that there appeared to be a couple of flecks / tiny hairs / dust (not sure!!) n the viewfinder along with the pre-determined focus points. I was after any help as to how this can be removed? Is it dust etc. on the sensor?

Many thanks

It sounds like dust on the focus screen, not the sensor. You can try and very carefully blow the dust away with a blower but, as annoying as it might be at first, I would just live with it. I've managed to blow some bits off mine but they come back and if you're not careful you might either damage the focus screen or mirror (or sensor) or move the dust from the focus screen to the sensor.

Many thanks Duncan - there is no reduction in image quality so that the main thing!! Hadn't noticed it before so just one of those things I guess. Thanks for response.
