Maybe a totally stupid question but how do I view the exif on images on the forum? Someone was kind enough to reply to a thread I made and could tell me what the exif for the image was although I can't find it myself?

Thanks

If the photos are stored in flickr then click on the photo and it will say what camera took the photo.Click on the camera name and exif comes up.Not expert by any means but it's something like that.I'm struggling to find exif data of images stored in photobucket.

most on here install software.. This is populor http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/index.html Its FREE and no advertware.. very safe to use

once installed you can right click on a picture on a MB or anywhere on internet and view all the exif (unless its been stripped out by an uploader.. facebook strip most and others do)

I clicked on download then on the second screen there's verious options/addresses.....how does one download it please?

I find KUSO Exif Viewer 3.0 very good, which also as the right click option.

So with any of these downloaded, how would you view the exif data on, say. photos on here?Sorry, but I'm not very clued up on how it all works..Thanks.

I use an add on with Firefox called simply Exif Viewer. :D

Right click on an image, and if the Exif data is there, you can scroll through it. :)

The Chrome add-on shows the EXIF data when your mouse hovers over the photo.

that really get's on my moobs :bat: So much so that as soon as I see images hosted on flickr nowadays I usually just leave the thread.

But I have to click the image to go into your account?or am I missing something?

With the Chrome add-on mentioned earlier I see this -

Do I run it or save it?God, this is getting embarrassing. Thanks Tony!

save if you want to keep for future use on another machine or if you ever need to reinstall everyhting.. or just RUN .. I would do the latter :)

its such a long time since i installed i cant recall the options but somewhere along the way it till ask you about adding to right click... answer YES

Just before you finish your prayers, when I click run it says unknown publisher. Is it safe to continue?
*blushing severely" as Captain Oates said, I might be gone a while or something.

standard thing in later versions of windows..its safe.. used it for years.. lots of thread if you search TP with lots of people using it.... its safe yes ....

yep... it's safe! As long as you've not got your feet in a bucket of water and you're holding a plugged in toaster or something

Right I've unpugged the toaster and dried my feet.........here goes.

Done it! Some pics have no data available but I've right clicked on a few and sure enough, the exif was there near the bottom. That was a trial version I think Tony, but eureka I've got it at the moment. Many thanks for explanations and patience. :)
