Visiting UK, looking for recommendations

Hello,

I'm going to be travelling to the UK (from Canada) later this month (12th to 27th). The basic plan is that we are going to be spending the first few days in Swansea visiting family followed by visits to Bath, Oxford, and London.

If anyone has suggestions for locations and/or activities of photographic interest I'd love to hear your input! This could include places to take pictures, places to see pictures, and places to buy equipment for taking pictures. :) Also, activities such as club events that don't mind guests tagging along would be of interest. Locations/activities within a day-trip of Swansea are of particular interest (as that is where we will be spending the most time).

Thank you for your help!
Paul

I live in Bath and if you are here before the 18th of June (i'm off to Scotland for a week or so) I will hapilly show you some of the best bits. Drop me a PM.

Laycock Abbey is very close to Bath and house the Fox-Talbot Photography museum as well as being a nice place.

Stourhead Gardens are fairly close (45 minutes) and a beautiful place to go take a walk and take some pictures.

Get your family to take you out on to the gower penisula too!

I guess it really depends on what sort of photos you like taking!

Hi,

Very close to Swansea is the Gower Peninsula, some great coastal scenery..as is the Pembrokeshire coastline. The Brecon Beacons are also quite close and well worth a visit, especially if you fancy some hiking

Many tourists from overseas travelling in the southern region of England like to have a look at Stonehenge. About 10 miles north of Salisbury, 2 miles west of Amesbury, junction of A303 and A360.
