Ive got a Vivitar 55mm Fd macro that i use on my EM5, what are they like with 2x extenders to try and get a bit of distance between camera and subject. the lens is very sharp but your almost on top of the subject. Are there any in particular i should look for or are there any cheap 100mm ish macro's to look for?

Canon did an excellent FD 200/4 Macro that focussed to 1:1 at 58cm MFD (32cm WD)...shouldn't cost an arm and a leg nowadays, Euan. If you're after a more modest increase in WD with very little outlay then an FD Lifesize Converter would about double your WD for the same reproduction ratio.

Cheers Bob, dont suppose you have a link to that lens as there are 100's on ebay and trying to work out what does 1:1 is hard going.

It's this one Euan http://www.mir.SPAM/rb/photography/companies/canon/fdresources/fdlenses/fdmacro/200macro.htm

I see that there's one on Ebay for £599 (dream on!). There have been a few over recent years that have been sub £100 which is more realistic.
