Went on a photo shoot with a mate of mine and half was through the shoot i went to connect my canon 450d to the cord connecting the bowen light kit and there was no port on my camera for this. I was totally gutted. Can anyone recommend a connection device i can use for this please? I was told it's called a hot shoe connector or something like that.

Hi Scott,

They are indeed called hotshoe adapters. They fit into the hotshoe (as you would imagine) and have a PC flash-synchro socket on the side of them.
I've got a couple and they aren't half handy. I reccomend more than 1 as well since they seem to run away of their own accord sometimes.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, WarehouseExpress do them, as I'm sure many other places do.

Thanks Tommy. Couldn't believe it last night when i couldn't use my own camera. Oh well i will be able to use it next time as i plan to buy a couple of these asap.

yes we have one in the studio as a backup for thoes who carnt sync the flash because of no sync port although we use wireless triggers most of the time .
