wd scorpio blue notebook drives

anyone running one?

looking at picking one up as I have a partitioned frive in my lappy that I can't format in case I have to give it back......(long story)

anywho looking @ 500gb here gets good reviews, but I was wondering if we had any first hand info on here ....

I'm running a 640gb Scorpio Blue drive in this here BlackBook, I was a bit dubious regarding the speed, having come from a 7200rpm 320gb drive. It seems every bit as quick in real world use with iMovie, PS, iPhoto, Aperture etc. The acres of new found HD real estate is a welcome bonus too!

A definite thumbs up from me

Be careful, the 750gb is 12.5mm high and won't fit most laptops.

So far, in the Scorpio Blue range you're limited(!) to a maximum of 640gb by the fact that MacBooks require 9.5mm high drives, and everything bigger than that is 12.5mm high. I won't say how close i was to clicking 'BUY' on a 1gb drive before I realised....

So far my 640gb drive is pretty much Ronseal - does what it says on the tin...
