Note to self. The button that allows you to rewind the film on a Zenit B also releases the shutter, so do not use this until you've taken the damn thing off bulb mode.

I will have to wait and see how much damage I've done...
 
Ouch :bonk: Best of luck mate - hopefully there's some sort of safety device in place there...
 
The only safety device used was my own leg, against which the lens was firmly pressed to block the light as soon as I realised what I'd done. I just have to hope the viewfinder isn't too leaky. On reflection, I could have fired the shutter at 1/500th and started again, but live and learn.
