Critique West Yorkshire Ford Meet @ Old Brickworks Leeds

A friend invited me to this event as he has just got himself a dslr and wanted a few pointers on how to use it, so I went along with him and couldn't help but get my camera out too.

Togging cars is something I have never done, it's a lot harder than I thought it would be if I'm honest but I like a challenge and can't wait to do some more.

I'm after a little critique/help too as it's the first time I have done this kind of photography. Am I heading in the right direction or am I doing it all wrong, what should/shouldn't I be doing.

Unfortunately I couldn't do anything with the dirty cars, some if these are daily commuters lol.

We then went on and had a photo-shoot in some random backstreet in Leeds.

I also require some help (see image below), I have a few images with them pink/blue reflections in them, what are they? I have a CPL on the end of my lens so was hoping I wouldn't get things like that in the images, I'd like to remove them before I process them in future so what do I need to do? How do I avoid not getting them in the image? Any help appreciated, thankyou.

Nice start - far too many images to give critique on,but I like most of them, I think the coloured flares in your last image could be caused by light from the car headlamps hitting the lens and reflecting back to the inside of the filter,I may be wrong of course

Thanks Les, just been reading up on lens flare...you may be correct.
