not quite sure what these do - but am using a very wide aperture and they appear to help image clarity with manual focusing??? - assume they don't do anything for auto focus

help please
 
Ones from Katz Eye (which don't appear to be available for your camera) can be supplied with manual focusing aids such as a split prism; can be brighter, making lenses with slower maximum apertures usable and manual focusing in dim conditions easier; and can be inscribed with grid lines to aid composition.
