i've been asked to do some second shooting at a wedding by a photographer friend in a couple of weeks, with the possibility of some more work in the future. i've been concentrating more on portraiture these days and recently switched from sony to canon and my kit bag at the minute consists of:
canon 30d
sigma 24-70mm f/2.8
canon 50mm f/1.8
i'm pretty happy with 24mm at the wide end of things, and with me only second shooting i don't think i'll need anything wider. so it's the longer side of things i'm looking at, probably renting something from 'lenses for hire' or similar for the first outing with a view to buying if i like what i try out.
what i've been looking at today are:
(prices are for 7 days hire)
canon 85mm f/1.8 £29.00
canon 135mm f/2 L £57.00
canon 70-200mm f/4 IS L £57.00
canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L non IS £61.00
i've been thinking about the 85mm f/1.8 for a while and it would give me a great oppertunity to put one through its paces. but the 135L has a great reputation and would give the length for some unobtrusive candids.
the two zooms would obviously be more flexible, but are going to be far more noticible than the prime options(especially the 2.8) but i wouldn't mind trying either one for a few days. i'd no doubt get some use from one fof the rest of the hire period.
any thoughts people?
