what lens is recommended for aviation photos?

hi i`m quite new to photography and last week i visited the mach loop to get some practice in.i`ve got a sony a200 with a 70-300 sigma lens and i`m not sure its quite enough.what sort of lens is ideal for this sort of photography?.
here is one i was happy with but i would like more detail.
