I have a Canon 450 D and it came with a Canon 18 - 55mm lens. Is this suitable for Marco shots or should I be looking for another lens to do these with. If so what do you recommend?

Sorry for all the simple questions but I am new to this and need to ask.

Thanks.

You would be better with a dedicated macro lens, however the 18-55 would work well with a set of extension tubes which are the cheaper option, but be sure to buy the auto extension tubes.
Alternativly there are the Raynox add on lenses.
It would help to know what type of stuff you want to shoot.

I am so taken with the pictures of the insects on me they just facinate me and would love to be able to say that I took some good ones.

Can you point me in the right direction of these auto extension tubes and what am I likely to be paying.

Thanks
