What next? Flash or cheap lens?

Yes
I am relatively new in photography and I'm looking to get some now equipment for our holiday this year in Scotland, I have a 70-200mm f4l which will be good for the wildlife side and I know later on in the six weeks I will be going to my friends gigs, this is where the lens I want will come into its own (the 50mm f1.8) which I know will be perfect for that but I'm not sure whether to get that or a flash which I could use as a fill flash for pretty much everything (canon speedlite 320ex), I get asked to take photos of events by my school and there mostly indoors and I would like to use the bounce capability of the flash however the 50 f1.8 is a lot cheaper.

any suggestions, I just can't decide? :bonk:

oh and btw I have heard that the 50mm 1.8 is probably sharper than my 70-200, is this true?

Welcome Chris.. I have had far more use for my 50mm F1.8 than I have my flash gun, I would go with the lens first.

thank you!
I think I will go along with that then, just have to save up now, I have £50 so far, £30 to go!

Agree with the lens option - i ended up with both a fifty and a yongnuo 565, but definitely use the 50mm more - it really is an awesome lens.

thank you but I'd rather stick with amazon, they have been very reliable, I have returned my phone 3 times and they didn't hesitate as well as my camera (it had a dead pixel) once, for £10 more there isn't much of a difference for that reassurance.
