I eventually got the D810. One of the factor why I went for it is the handling of the camera. I had a D3 before so I'm used on big camera bodies.
Both cameras are superb, you can't go wrong either of them :)

I only have my D7000 and plan to keep as a second body for a smaller walk around. Paired with the 18-200 its so versatile I know I would miss it. It also has some sentimental value as well. Sounds silly I know, but my cameras have been around the world with me and mean as much to me as the images they have produced....don't think il ever sell it :)
 
I just tuned into this thread and noticed a couple of people mentioned how quiet the 810 shutter is. Can anyone tell me how it compares to the 750 (which I don't think is particularly quiet).

On most of the D750 reviews that I have read, it was considered a noisy shutter compared to the 800/810.

I have use both cameras and confirm that the D810 shutter is significantly quieter than the D750 shutter. The quiet D810 shutter is quiet useful for discreet church shots and is not to intrusive.

That's really good to know. I've always though Canon's silent shutter mode was MUCH better than the Nikon implementation. But I was only comparing it to the D4s and D750. If the D810 is really good then I might be tempted to get one :)
