At the moment I am using Costco Kirklands Photo paper as they are very good price and seem to be doing a good job...

But wondering what other Photo Paper i should try out? As sometime I find the images get printed over saturated on the Kirklands paper...

Cheers

You don't say what printer you are using. With inkjet paper you generally get what you pay for, however expensive papers may be a waste of money if you don't have the printer that's up to the job.

As a guide use the printer manufacturers photo grade paper as a reference and then try from there.

A lot of manufacturers do sample packs, This is a relativly inexpensive way to try different papers. Don't forget inks can also make a difference.

I have a canon IP4500 printer and I always use the canon brand ink....

The canon own photopaper I am not too keen on the kirklands seems to beat it hand down and hell alot cheaper

Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl and Classic Pearl - excellent stuff. I haven't tried the gloss. Prices vary so look around eg 7Dayshop and Amazon.

Could it be that you just need to profile your printer to work with that ink and paper combination?

this will be your print settings. are you using the printer to set the colours or the image software.

Does the printer have a "control Panel". Somewhere you can make adjustments to the way it prints. Being an Epson person I'm not over familiar with Canon. It's probably a software tool. With Epson' you have the ability to modify the way the printer prints the image, adjusting saturation, colour, brightness, etc.

It doesn't compensate for a fully profiled and calibrated system, but it could help you solve the current problem with the paper you currently prefer

I have a brother DCP-350c printer and I use Staples own brand 'photo supreme' satin paper, and it's great, better than kodak papers etc I've tried in the past.

Another vote for Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl and Classic Pearl as mentioned.

Or, see if Argos still have the Ilford Printasia its cheap and just as good as Canon's 101
