What software do you recomend

If you have a Canon camera, the free DPP that came with the camera (and then upgraded to the latest version).

Depends what you want to do I guess.
I use Photoshop CS2 & Nik Software Color Efex Pro 3.

Yep it does depend.

I started off using Picasa. It's free and easy for basic fixes, cropping, light adjustments and not bad for sorting photos.

As time went by I started using Adobe Photoshop Elements (version 6) where I learnt a little about sharpening, layers, levels, cloning and the likes.

I have now discovered the delights of shooting in raw and am currently using a demo version of Adobe Lightroom which I really like. Bad idea installing this demo as I have a bad feeling when the demo license runs out I will have to make a purchase...

Lightroom (and Lightroom 2 Beta for fun stuff)

Lightroom 1.4 and Photoshop. What's fun in the beta that's worth checking out?

Ooops! I meant I use the beta for my photography for fun, rather than more important stuff.

Selective edits and proper dual monitor support are very good though!

For windows, Picasa, Ufraw and the Gimp. If you have to ask what you need then these will do far more than you have dreamed of at an irresistable price.

Lightroom for the batch processing and RAW conversion, Photoshop Cs3 for the clever stuff. Wayne
