Hi friends,

I am planning to do event studio photography and planning to buy a White/Black backdrop.
There are several material types available and so i am confused. Please can you suggest based on your experience?
1. Vinyl
2. Fabric
3. Paper

Kit:
1. Elinchrom d-lite rx 4 softbox to go kit

Thank you in advance for your help.

Vinyl for economy, especially if you're shooting against a white background, it's heavy but that disadvantage is outweighed (sorry:) ) by the advantages.
Fabric for a black background, the creases won't show.
Paper for quality, but very expensive because it gets ruined very quickly and as also easily creased.

I recently acquired a collapsible backdrop that mounts on a light-weight stand. It’s white on one side and black on the opposite . I find it easier to mount than a traditional fabric or paper backdrop,. It’s affordable and transports easily.

I bought a collapsible backdrop also yesterday, just waiting for it to turn up. Black on one side, white on the other, 2M x 1.5M.
