What would you keep - Nikon's 20mm AF-D 2.8 or 35mm AF-D f2?

Had a bash with the 20mm over the weekend but am wondering if Nikon's 35mm AF-D f2 would be a better choice - I've owned the 35mm before but it was on a D300s...

I already have Nikon's 50mm AF-D 1.8 so I would sell that and put towards the 35mm f2 as well as the funds from the 20mm (althou the 20mm would pay for the 35mm...)

So am asking what would you rather have - Nikon's 20mm AF-D 2.8 or the 35mm AF-D f2 :shrug:
 
I guess it depends on what you're shooting but I'd probably go for the 20mm as the 35mm on a crop sensor ends up like a 50mm standard lens on a 35mm or FF camera. You can always crop in to get a bit tighter but you obviously sacrifice a bit of speed by sticking with the 20mm.

Had both, sold the 20mm, still have the 35mm. I found that I couldn't do without a zoom at the ultra wide end, good as the 20mm was. Also had a 50mm 1.8 but sold that too, I find the 35mm a more useful length on FF.
 
Interesting - I've got the 50mm f/1.4 and the 35mm f/2 and want to add either the 20 or 24 to give me a nice spread. There's such a big gap between your two lenses, Steve that I'd be tempted to keep both, sell the 50mm and trying and dig the money up from elsewhere to make up the shortfall.

If it help, MPB have a load of cheap 35mm f/2s in at the moment :naughty:

I did look at MPB & might get in touch with them... Only other thing is that I also have Nikon's 24-70 which covers the gap (well almost...)

You don't need the 20 either then, send it my way :lol:
 
You could always do what I did and get the 20-35 2.8 zoom :cool:
