What zoom lens?

Yes
I have a tamron 70-300, and, whilst it is one of my favourite lenses, I suffer from terrible camera shake! There are times when I want to use the lens without a tripod.
What lens would others recommend in a similar range, but with IS? I have a 600d. Budget is a concern, but could probably go to about £250.

Thanks all.

You won't go far wrong with the 55-250 IS, it's a cracker of a lens and used you can pick one up for around £100-£130!
If you MUST have the extra 50mm then a little more than your budget will get you a used 70-300 IS which I believe is quite an improvement over the older 75-300 IS and pretty much on a par with the 55-250 in regards to IQ.
Personally, I'd get the 55-250...in fact, I did!

The Canon 70-300 IS and Tamron 70-300 VC are substantially better than the 55-250. The 55-250 is a nice bargain but a lot of people seem to move onto 70-300s, maybe for reach but I think the IQ just isn't quite there for it to be a real keeper.

The Tamron 70-300 VC (totally different lens to the normal one) is great for the price, the Canon is a little bit better than the Tamron, yes, but from what I've read it's not quite worth it over the Tamron.
