Just noticed I've lost about a thousand views from my Flickr stats  seriously strange stuff happening?

Hmmm... well I was experiencing horrendous performance issues when trying to use Flickr yesterday. Photos were failing to upload (after waiting AGES), and just browsing photos was basically impossible. I've got now idea what was going on, but all is fine today.

I was watching TP yesterday, to see if anyone else was reporting such problems, so when I saw your thread, I instantly clicked it.

Dunno if it could be related....

I lost all views and statistics for sunday on Flickr, but this morning there all back and showing views and comments for sunday.

Last week for several days I had hundreds of hits on a Meerkat image (the title of which referred to a certain TV commercial). When I looked for where the hits originated they all came from Flickr Searches for "Cheap car insurance" or variation thereof.

I have no idea what was going on with it !

:D:D I may title one of my worst shots "sheryle cole" should reach the tens of thousand views then.:D:D

My images have been uploaded without the EXIF data intact over the past couple of days and it's driving me mad because I can't see why this is.

in dec one of my photos had over 1,400 hits in 2 days.. wasn't in any groups and nothing in the stats other than a link to flickr, never got to the bottom of it?

I had over 100,000 views of my lot on one day a couple of months back...:)

Think I saw something about referral hits and URL's which have now become blocked via Yahoo's search results.

Will try and find out more information for you all.

Edit: It seems that views for photos featured on the homepage are no longer counted. This would explain why people have views without any explaination. Yahoo don't have to tell you when your photo is featured on the homepage but it is fairly random with some popular ones featured more often than not.

Mind you I did put a rather inflammatory post on the strobist flickr group and received 800+ views first day, 550+ the next and 500+ the day after - since then it's been knocking a steady 130+ every day since :)

Just put something totally irritating in a popular discussion group, sit back and wait...*

*(not that that was my initial intention but it didn't harm ;))
