What's in a Canon name ?

Hi folks

Still a newbie to these forums, but hoping someone can help me.

Been looking at the Canon 550D, which is getting good reviews here, and found this -

Canon EOS T2i / Kiss X4 / 550D Digital SLR

Is it the same as a Canon EOS 550D SLR ?

And if it's different, in what way ?

Not a Canonista so I may not have it 100%.
T2i is N. American branding, Kiss X4 is Japanese branding & 550D is European branding.
Only differences may be the menu languages & the charger plug ...

Also if it's being advertised as such I'm guessing it's a generic ad for the camera on ebay/internet. Be sure to check the veracity of the seller before parting with cash, lots of scam sites aimed at camera buyers. If the price is too good to be true it will be.
 
As Scott said, its just the different branding names for the US, Japenese and European markets. The actual 550D comes with about 7 or 8 languages built in with others available as an update. The Rebel T2i is the American version which have had the Rebel name since the 300D I think and the Japenese Kiss version has about 3 or 4 languages built it, one of which is English, which is built into all three models.
They all work from the same adapter which takes from 110V to 240V with different plug adapters so they can be charged all over the world too. I think the only physical difference is the badge on the front. Oh, and one last thing, they are very good cameras capable of taking fantastic photos with the right combination of lens and user. It was the first dslr I got and although I now have a 7D and a 5D2 I gave the wife my 550D cause I didn't want to sell such a good camera.
