I'm just curious what people carry with them on a day to day basis when out shooting (simular idea to a show us your gear thread). My bags looking pretty sparce, a spare battery, some cleaning kit and chargers. Just wondering what kit people have so I can put it on a list/research about it.

It depends on what I'm doing I guess.

If I'm just chucking some stuff in a bag to go out with nothing specific in mind it wil be 1D3, 17-40 and 100-400.

If I'm going out with landscapes in mind then I'll add the 24-70, CPL, ND grads, remote cable and obviously the tripod.

If I'm off to shoot birds I'll stick the 40D incase I want reach rather than AF ability and a teleconverrter to keep the 1D3 in range.

I picked up a long toploader recently for taking the 1D3 and 100-400 out dog walking and find the whole one body / one lens thing quite liberating.

It's only when i go up to the holiday cottage that I take the whole lot.

It will always depend on where I'm headed, and what silly ideas I have in my head at the time. I tend to take too much, I never use half of it. Need to learn to curb that.

In general though, whatever backpack I'm using at the time: Dslr/24-70, macro lens/35mm prime/blower/spare batteries/cloths/ND filter/note pad + pen - this will change to ipad, as I just got a mini recently/torch/munchies. Always pack munchies!

unfortunately for my back i'm one of the "its better to have it & not need it than to need it & not have it" types & i usually end up taking way too much :bonk:
