Okay heres the deal, i got my Fujiful Finepix S1500 the other day, and im still getting to grips with the settings ect, its a great camera!

Im allowed to select the quality in megapixels that i want the images to be, the highest is 10. There are two settings for 10MP, one is titled 10MP,N the other 10MP,F. On 10MP, N i can store over 6000 images on my SD card (16 gig) on F i can only store just over 3000.

So, whats the difference between these settings?

Normal and Fine are the 2 settings and it referes to the amount of compression and quality loss it has when it saves the picture as a JPEG file. Fine obviously saves the pictures at a higher quality but the file sizes are bigger. I would suggest always shooting at maximum quality as memory is so cheap.

Its to do with the size of the image. I assume that F mean Fine, where as N means Normal. So F would be your top quality images that why you can only take 3000 rather than 6000 image on a 16g card
