I would think the light would be in front of the camera, just to the left of the mirror. If you look at the face in the mirror, it's fairly front lit. A single light that's enough to the left to find the back of the shoulder and the hip, but leaves everything else in the foreground in shadow.
Here's one with a similar kind of setup. I shot this 30 years ago, but if I remember correctly, it was lit with a single strobe just behind and a foot or two above his shoulder. If there had been a mirror in the background, the back of his head would have been pretty evenly exposed.
