What's this on my frog?

This is a small frog (1-2cm). Not a great photo I know, but look at it's head. There's some knid of tiny spider sitting on it's head.

I've never seen this before and thought I would share it with you all.

Well, it amused me anyway.

While previewing this post I've just noticed another of the little critters on it's right foot. Some kind of parasite perhaps?

No, honest, this is no fake.

I think it looks pretty cute too. I'm not sure that the frog agrees though.

I'd never heard of them, but having just done a Google search and read up on them, it seems that they are extremely common.

Looks like a white spider mite to me.
Apparently they will do the frog no harm, they feed on decaying vegetation.
