Was at Farnborough yesterday and this chap was taking some photos.

What's that attached to the hotshoe?

Isn't it for viewing the LCD in bright light? Maybe, I'm probably wrong lol.

EDIT: I just had a look, I think its this - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/687696-REG/Hoodman_HCRN_HoodCrane_Universal_Hot_Shoe.html - with a Hoodloupe attached? correct me if I'm wrong

It's a hoodcrane, used for inspecting the LCD in bright light.

Yup, just looked up Hoodcrane on Youtube and thats what is is thanks

Handy for shooting video but looks a bit strange otherwise.

$99.99 (crane) + $79.99 (loupe) = Quite a lot of money

The Hoodloupe seems okay, but $99.99 for that crane that looks like it is made in someone's garage is a bit much.
