When's the best time to shoot the Welsh coast?

My wife and I plan on visiting the island in 2012 and I want to get some dramatic shots of the western coastline. The clouds in Glyn Davies images of Wales are amazing. What time of year is best for this? Thanks!
 
You might be in for a surprise if you think that Wales is an island!
