Foreground is a massive distraction, but looks like a pleasant enough beach, perhaps would have composed shot on ground in front of fence. Think this location should be marked down as a revisit for another hour of the day...

Ahhhh... Thanks for looking Chewy, I agree with what you say of course but the pic was really only an "informational snapshot". The other things that impacted on the shot were...

1. The wooden fence was too long to walk round.
2. The wooden fence was to high to vault.
3. The sand would have gotten on my nice shiny bike boots.
4. It was midday but still the light was cr@p.
5. I was in company and couldn't really swan off and take pix.
6. I didn't have enough zoom to get a decent crop from the baby Canon.

So after all is said and done, yes I will go back in due course and take a real Pic. (With a real camera of course.)

I think the fence works well but I would crop out the cross section in the bottom right corner.
I think a bit of additional contrast would help the shot as well.
I like it.

Thanks Sky...... It really only is a fun shot from my P&S when out with the guys for a bike run. I appreciate your comments though.
