Which batteries do you use?

I need to buy some new batteries for my Canon Speedlites but not sure which to go for. I have been using the 7day branded rechargeable's but noticed that lately they are a bit unreliable. Just wondered what other people recommend.
 
Most people probably use Eneloop batteries, I think they are made by Sanyo. I use Encore, which are made by Uniross I think. I've heard good things about Vapextech, who do 8 for 10.50. Forget 7day branded ones, they're cack!
 
thanks for the replies, looked at the Eneloop ones and found pack of 4 with charger for £13 and packs of 4 batteries for £6.99 (even less if you buy more).

Does anyone know if the eneloop batteries have to be charged with a Sanyo charger?

Any NiMH charger should do, as long as it's a reasonable make and quality.
 
Avoid any of the "speed" chargers as they will, over time, fry your batteries. Your best bet is to get a good overnight charger like the Technoline BC-700.

Also make sure you buy the latest Eneloops. The serial number is HG3A. These can be charged up to 2000 times and will hold a charge for months, even when not in use. The HG3A only come in the 2000 MaH range.

I got my Eneloops and charger from Amazon. Order the batteries that come in the plastic storage boxes. Also, the Eneloops come ready charged.

I have eneloop's and uniross hybrios both simialr in the way they work never had any problems with them.
 
I use the 2900Mah AA's from www.7dayshop.com They seem to last for a long time between charges and I use them for my 580EX II, my Nissin Di866 and my Marumi ringflash and never have any problems.
 
Thanks for the advice guys, Looks like Eneloop will be the way to go and great to see this has been useful for you to Tina.
 
I use Chamelion AA rechargeables from Maplins - never had any problems with them. Also use their AAA ones in my LED Lenser P7 torch which gets a LOT of use and they have never let me down.
They also hold their charge for up to a year apparently.
 
Yep, Eneloops are in my 580EX II..

I also have a Maha C9000 charger / analyser and have found that all of my Eneloops are within 3% capacity wise of each other. They really are good.

Good advice as above. You will b****r the circuits up if you use a 15 / 30 minute charge on them

I used Eneloops in my Nissin 622 Mk2 and have no complaints at all - it seems to go on and on...

(I got these in november, and paid £11 for 8).

Because i shop by customer service not price.

You won't get a decent charger for that price.

Always found 7day to offer great service personally, and the charger is a Sanyo Eneloop charger
