That was taken over 3 years ago using an old fuji s1000fd [think you can find those now for about £50] - the newer models are much better. They don't do 1:1 macro or anything just more close up really, but they do it well, at least in good lighting.
Bridge cams are not the best quality you'll ever use, they have their issues and short comings [my one was limited to 8 second exposure, f2.8 - f/8 max, and didn't shoot RAW] but they offer a little of everything, for cheap.
