Which camera best to travel for picture making?

I need a camera to take with me on travel as I am planning to visit Europe and I have always been interested in picture making but don’t have idea to select the best camera to capture the beautiful glimpse of Europe. I would like to look forward to your appropriate replies.

Need to be a little more specific, you looking and a P&S or SLR? Budget? etc etc Then we can throw all sorts of opinions and ideas at you

As Dave says you need to be more specific. It also depends on how you intend to travel i.e. camping, hotels etc.. One thing I would suggest is that if you are looking at a Point and Shoot or a Bridge it is worth considering one that uses AA batteries in case you cant always get to a charger.
