which case for the HTC desire

ok recieved my desire this weekend (no thanks to amazon who didnt wrap it very well and it practically fell out when i picked it up from RM depot)


the main thing im looking for is a decent protective case, to protect it from damage and dirty paw prints.

I work as a lecturer/instructor and spent the majority of my time working on racing cars, which means i need something that is very protective.

are the gel cases worth it? or should i get a leather wallet type one?


i know there was a thread baout this a while back but the search function appears to be out of order

I've stuck mine in a leather wallet type thing. I got mine from Amazon but I see that 7-day also stock something similar. Comes with a screen protector, but I picked up an additional pack of those as well. The wallet case is quite substantial, most of the sides and ends are protected by the plastic clam that holds the phone very securely. There are cut-outs to access the chargiung socket, headphone socket, and the top and side buttons.

got a hard clam shell type case for it today which will protect the back and sides and put a screen protector on the front. seems ok for now!

I use a one of those close-fitting black silicone rubber cases on my Touch HD. They're only a couple of quid on eBay. I love the grippy slabby feel it gives to the phone.
Couple that with stick on screen-protectors, also from eBay, and it's pretty well protected while still being easy to use/access. I've had it nearly two years and the phone is still mint.
