Our Olympus mju700 has packed up and would like to replace with another compact for around £100-£150 any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I bought my missus a Canon Ixus 80 last Christmas, she loves it, great little camera, and 8MP is more than enough for those small sensors on compacts :)
 
I bought a Canon ixus 95 IS from Argos yesterday (£120), seems really nice for the money.

The only downside is that it only has a 3X zoom and it does not go very wide as it starts at 35mm, on the positive side, it's very tiny and cute, and it quite responsive (for a lower end compact) and the image quality is good at lower ISO's, it also has a great macro mode.

I was torn between the Canon and the Panasonic DMC FS7, the Panasonic has a greater zoom range, I went with the Canon in the end as it has a histogram and closer macro, but I think the Panasonic would be equally as good as choice if you favor the 4X zoom.

Just bought the missus a Panasonic TZ7 so thats :agree::plusone:
