Which DSLR out of these

a friend of mine has the d90, and while I'm not exactly small, I found it quite heavy for walking around hand held shots, and if your starting out, you could do worse than the d5000,you can pick it up with a twin lens kit for a very good £599,both vr lenses too, ultimately I would buy the best I could afford.

It is hard to decide. I have looked / tried several. Still confused.

I now know that my max budget is £400, tops. Not bothered about getting extra lenses at the moment. A kit lens will suffice for now.

I would recommend the D90 over the D5000, mainly because when you do decide to upgrade your lens it will give you more lens choices AF or AF-S

If you can stretch to the D5000 over the D3000 it makes sense. I recently bought my wife a D5000, £479 from Jessops for the kit lens included version, and she is very pleased with it. A friend has the D3000 which doesn't have live view, has an old CCD sensor and the menu seems somewhat long-winded to access most used options, although the hand-holding guide mode is very good.
Going for the D5000, you have the better 12mp CMOS sensor (as used in the D90/D300), the articulated LCD, movie-mode, and quicker access to most used functions with its <i> button. I don't care much for the twisty LCD (but the wife likes it) - to me, it looks like something else waiting to snap off!
