The DMC filter. It's also known as a Pro 1D filter.
Is it for protection only?
I went for a Hoya pro1d protector - they are much cheaper than the uv filters.

AFAIKIt is mainly for protection but I shoot mostly outdoors so UV is useful for me.
AFAIK
Digital sensors pretty much fail to capture anything from the UV spectrum so the UV properties of the filter aren't really worth paying for. Unless you going for an effects filter or polariser then the clear filters will offer protection and are cheaper.
If you intend to use the lens for film as well then the UV is worth the extra.
