Yes
Ive had my camera now a few months and im finding my 18-55mm lens way too restricting at times.

Im looking at either the 55-200 or the 70-300. theres quite a difference in price so, im wondering weather its worth the extra money or not?

When abroad i was taking pictures of the wildlife by the sea and was struggling to get any decent close ups (check my egypt thread) and i went to watch amateur rugby this weekend and again i struggled once the play was on the other side of the pitch..

What should i do?

Hi

What is your budget? The 55 - 200 vr is a very good value for money lens. A second hand one can be bought for £100. The 70-300 Nikon is a more expensive lens with more reach at 300.

These go for between £260 to £280 secondhand.

My budget is what i want really, but i dont wana spend money if i dont need to, my camera isnt the best so im not sure what to buy.

Im very new to all this but ive realised that i do need a different lens.

I just dont know weather its worth the extra or not? Will is be a huge difference?

I have a 55-200 and am very happy with it. I would not get the 70-300 as I do not think I would use it as much.

Also it is a lot heavier than the 55-200. Choice is you, you can use both lenses if and when you decide to upgrade your camera unless you decide to move to Canon.
