Which lens would best suit the job?

Hi all,

Hope you are all well. Could someone please advise me on the best sort of lens that would help me achieve the following style photographs.

Basically i'm after something that will offer me a shallow DOF producing striking colours at a decent resolution.

I have a 400D, kit lens, 430EX and a nifty fifty to hand. Will the nifty be the way forward or would i have to shell out on an L glass? Would a Sigma or Tamron fit the bill?

Any recommendations would be absolutely brilliant!!

Id say the nifty fifty would be ideal here. On a few of the shots (Such as bottom of page 6) you might need something a bit wider, but the kit lens on 18mm should be fine.

ah well thats decent to know anyways. I'm yet to give the nifty a whirl yet as i'm awaiting it arriving from Kerso.

btw, you mustn't live that far from me. I'm nearish to Consett.
