Which monitor I'm stumped

Sorry if this is not the right area.

I am looking for a new monitor. I don't mind second hand high end but looking to spend about £250ish. But the less the better as my current one is no good for photo stuff.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinking on a second hand HP LP2475W as it has good reviews but then others got my attention. Any advice would be great:)
 
The Dell UH 2310 and 2311 get good write ups,both are IPS monitors.
I went from a nondescript 19" LCD to a 23" Dell U2311 and the difference is amazing.
I wonder how I ever used the old monitor.

As above now got 2x u2311h monitors and brilliant to use and so much nicer than my old acer screen.
 
I have the U2311H and it's a brilliant upgrade from any TN panel monitor.

Investing in a good monitor for photo editing is certainly worthwhile.

I'd buy an IPS monitor and 24 inch or above is a good size. A lot comes down to personal preference and how you work- some run 2x 22inch and have tool bar etc on one and picture on the other. I have that HP and also the U2410- I like them both and don't have a preference- you'd like either. Both are calibrated which is something else to consider/ factor in- it's not a cheap game:lol:
 
The HP LP2475w is great ( I have one) but also look at the ZR24W ( I also have one!) Its cheaper than the LP2475 but is just as good, infact I prefer the colours on the ZR. Its not wide gamut like the LP, but it hasnt been a problem for me.

I run them both side by side on a dual screen set up. makes lightroom a breeze!
 
Are any of these new monitors any better at viewing them at different angles, as this is the reason I have stuck with my good old 17in CRT screen.
 
Any IPS panel is a 100% improvement over TFT, and not far off a CRT. There is no change in my monitors at any angle TBH.
