Which Speed SDHC card for my 500D?

I have done a quick search but couldnt find an answer to this...

I need to get a new Sd card as I've only been using an old 2gb one from a previous compact.

i was looking at gettin an 8GB card but i see there are different speeds and the price goes up considerably so i dont want to pay extra if i dont need a fast card.

Also does everyone just recommend scandisc are are any other brands decent? There is a Maxwell 8gb class 4 in argos reduced to £16.99, this is about the same price as a class 2 scandisc.

I have used a Transcent Class 6 without problems and you can get it for well under 20 pounds.

I have class 10 and class 6 cards for my 500D and don't see any noticeable difference between the 2, I guess it is the limitation of the camera writing to the card. Also no problem with video writing to a class 6 card. With slower class 2 and 4 there is a difference between them and a class 6.

The class 10 cards are quicker reading from a card reader.
