Hi Guys,

relatively new to Canon and currently using the Canon EF-S 10-22mm for wide angle.

Thinking of adding or jumping to F/F, so wondering what is my best choice for F/F UWA?

thanks in advance,

Thanks Andy,

been looking at the 16-35, it was all I could find, just wondered if there was anything similar to the 10-22 in F/F; am I right in thinking the 16-35 would give me roughly the same coverage as the 10-22 on a cropped sensor?

No probs Ken.

Yeah 16-35 would be the nearest due the x1.6 crop factor on the 10-22ef-s. I think the 17-40 is a well regarded lens too, cheaper and lighter athough fixed f4 as opposed to fixed f2.8 on the 16-35.

Unless you will be doing indoor wide shots maybe the 17-40f4 is the better buy as you will be likely stepping the aperture somewhere between f5.6-f16 anyway.

Just noticed the 16-35 takes 82mm filters so that potentially another cost to consider.

Thanks again Andy,

food for thought, leaning towards the 16-35mm at the mo' - have to see what's on offer, although already got the 24-70 range covered so a lot of cash for what may be little gain?

I think if I go to full frame the 24-70 will also be in the bag too.

Maybe you could look at your EXIFs from your current shots off the 10-22 and see how often you shoot at the widest end and how many at somewhere inbetween.

My gut feeling is to build a 17-40, 24-70 and 70-200+extender full frame setup. My current 50mm and 100macro will complement that too.

swap the 17 for the 16-35 and ill give you my girlfreind for that bag ..

17-40L. You really have to want f/2.8 very badly to go for the 16-35L.
