Critique Which way?

[Logical Fallacy]

Yellow-tail moth on the moth-trap last night.

Tried an unusual angle, which I prefer, but Flickr seems to like the more traditional angle more so far.

Horizontal for me as well....just looks a more natural orientation to my eyes.

Somebody elsewhere has suggested the first one looks like the Punisher logo.

Number 2 - you instantly know what your looking at.

Number 1 - instantly a much stronger image.

#1 for me though have you tried flipping it vertically?

First one for me. Presenting it vertically seems to draw the eye into the detail, IMO anyway.
