That brings back memories. I was a shunter 43 years ago. I worked in the Wimbledon yard, when there was no such thing as health and safety. 4 teenage lads running around jumping the live rail and pulling points in the dark, happy days, even had my own train key and used to drive the train to the end of the yard, get out run up the bank to the chippy to get the dinner in.

I really like this image, the sign, shunter, loco and tree on the right forms a good diagonal line, the tree also being a sight stop for the right hand edge.
If my eye goes to the loco first it goes to the left, picks up the line of the track, the other whistle sign and stops at the bright silver birch trunk.
