I have got a fairly meagre budget to get a wide angle lens, its around 400 quid. I have done some looking around and I have narrowed it down to 2 choices that are in the price zone I can currently spend
the first is Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX DC Lens, this is lens new comes in at 430
the second is Tamron 10-24mm f3.5-4.5 Di II LD AF SP Aspherical Lens (IF) . new this comes in just under 370.
Given the choice of the 2 above which one is considered to be the better lens ? My experience with Tamron has been quite good to date with my 17-50 f2.8 being shar and producing good IQ. Sigma however I have only ever had a budget end lens the 70-300 APO, which is ok but produces some soft images.
The few people I have spoken to always seem to come back and say the same thing that Sigma QA is a bit ropey and sometimes you can get a bad copy.
Do any of you have experience of both of these lenses and if so which one came out on top for you ? I am hoping I can make a choice based on other peoples experiences and advice as I am currently not sure which way to go
