Wide angle lens for £200?

Hi,

Im going to get a wide angle lens in a couple of weeks, My budget is around £200, £250 max. What is the best lens I can pick up for this price range (I will be buying second hand) My camera is a 400d.

Do you want ultra wide or just wide?
If 17mm is wide enough the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 is excellent and about £200 second hand.
Otherwise the next cheapest wider lens would be the Sigma 10-20mm. You might be lucky and find one for £250 ish.

I've been watching out fora wide anlgle for ages, specifically after the sigma 10-20mm if I could get one, with a similar idea for budget. But they just haven't dropped that far, I ended up getting mine in here from another member (which I'd prefer to do than off eBay, I have more faith in what I'm getting) for £285. Now I've got it, it hasn't been off the camera!

I know members on here sell on ebay, and I appreciate that not everyone on ebay is a scammer or selling sub standard stuff (quite the opposite, most people are fine), but having been bitten once means I'm happier buying on here.

I will buy from another member off here if I can. as you said, its gives you peace of mind.
