Wide angles for smaller sensors

I want to get a better wide angle zoom for my D90 and was wondering what the best range would be for me? I want something particularly for landscapes, although I'm mostly a generalist. Plan to add a D300s soon and can't see me buying a full sensor camera any time soon.

Was thinking I should go for a 10-24mm to make up for the smaller sensor but is that still too wide? Is the 24-70 a better option?

Thanks in advance for any help.

For a D90/D300s wide angle work so you have various options:

Sigma 10-20 (either the f4-5.6 (cheaper) or f3.5 (bigger, more expensive) version)
Tokina 12-24/4
Tokina 11-16/2.8
Nikon 10-24/3.5-4.5
Nikon 12-24/4

I've only used the Sigma 10-20 and Tokina 11-16 which are both fine lenses for the price. The Nikon ones are more expensive but a little bit better in IQ from pics I've seen on the web. As I almost exclusively landscape with my UWA with it on a tripod at f/11 or f/16, I didn't see the problem in not getting the Tokina 11-16/2.8, but this lens could be handy if you do interior architectural work.

The Nikon 24-70 would be the equivalent of 36-105 on a D90/D300s so not wide at all.

I've the Nikon 10-24 and its stunning, get one if you can.

The wider the better (I'm already oggling the new Sigma 8mm!)

Plus you get an equivalent of 36mm at the long end so have the full range from UWA(wacky) to WA(normal photography) on the one lens.

Thanks everyone. Considering the Sigma 10-20 f3.5 which seems to get great reviews and looks like good value.
