Will insurers cover shutter failure?

Just a quick question really, im looking at buying a well used full-frame DSLR for a good price. When I say well used, it has over 200k shutter actuations which is 50k over its recommended life so I know if I bought it and didnt have insurance id be looking at failure pretty soon (not definitely but chances are). I do have insurance already with Photoguard and never actually had to use it touch wood, im just wondering if I buy it and it fails will I be covered? Not just the shutter but pretty much anything? Ive never actually owned a DSLR near the end of its life so im not too sure what else can go wrong but I guess the immediate thing shouting out at me is the shutter.
Would an insurer cover anything that goes wrong because of this or is it simply 'wear and tear'?

Thanks in advance

if its over the shutter count then its wear and tear...BUT always best to double check wihtt he insurerers not us :)

fair wear and tear? No. Something else causing shutter to fail. Maybe.

I think you are getting insurance mixed up with warranty? I've never heard an insurance company coughing up for a mechanical failure like a shutter!

It's not the end of the world if a shutter does fail, I bought a 1Ds Mk1 a few years back for a very good price knowing its shutter had failed, sent it to Canon professional at Elstree who put a new one in, a few days turnaround, £220 +VAT, camera was back up and ready for action again.

In some cases you're probably right if you do get it for a very good price. In this instance I think factoring in another £200 makes it not such a good deal and I could probably get a less used one with the extra £200 factored in. Its also a Nikon and from what I read online, their turnaround is about 6 weeks!

I wont be going for it anyway :)
