There are a number of DIY alternatives to the Wimberley PLAMP - but I cannot find anywhere in the UK where I can purchase the items needed.
By this I mean the plastic or foam coated wire and the grips.
Any help would be appreciated.

I wonder whether 70 or 100 amp single core electric cable would be stiff & flexible enough?

If you can go to an electrical wholesaler, many will sell to the public, and ask to see a piece and try it flex & positionable control.....that might be ok?

But for the grips.....to mimic the Plamp IMO you need soft grip ones not the strong & sharp "crocodile clips!

Thanks for the suggestion. Worth considering. If the process works for me it'll broaden ability to take different photos.
